The North once again took the All-Star game that is 3 out of 4. The North won 7-4 in a fairly good game. So you now must ask yourself this question.
Is The North Better than the South.
1- The North won Interleague play 17-12, granted there is still a few games to be played, The South still can't win the battle.
2- The North won the All-Star game without 2 players who were selected to be on the 2nd team. Granted the South didn't have exactly their best product on show, they still got beat.
3- The North has Hicktown, like them or not they are as good as they come.
4- Mayhem has stepped up the last few weeks. They are no longer a joke. This team is no easy win anymore.
5- Top to bottom when you look at teams in each division, they appear very equal, When you look at matchups. Hicktown-Balls Deep, Holey Balls- Soco, Woodcocks-Highjackers, Mayhem-Green Machine. They all are very equal, but in the end the North reigns Superior.
6- What is killing the South right now is the Highjackers, they are and should be a 12-8 to 15-5 team.
7- The North has better pitching, you can say look at numbers, and if you do that's fine here is my take. The North allows 4.46 RAPG while The South has a near identical 4.48. So you say they are almost the same, but here is where it gets good. Hicktown has scored 136 Runs, The entire South has scored 187. The North all together has scored 261, 74 more runs total.
8- The North has Joey Reid (7-0), Chris Beets (6-0), those 2 guys alon make up a record of 13-0. Where the Souths top 2 pitchers according to votes is Grabb (1-4), Hunziker (4-1). I know some guys will say well Grabb isn't our top 2 pitchers well according to stats it is Vacarro at (4-1) as well. That makes 8-2 vs 13-0. From there The North still has strength in Pitching, Medina and Richardson are no slouches.
That's just my take. Let me hear yours

The All-Star ballots have been submitted and we have the results. I have a few things I would like to say in reguards.
1a- Nick Estrada got hosed, If you look at Nick's numbers he was more than deserving of an All-Star bid. Nick had a 2.43 RAPG nearly a whole run better than the 2nd best in the South. His hits alowed were 5.23 right up there within .30 of the league best. He should have at the minimum been 2nd team, and as far as I am concerned he should have been 1st Team Pitcher. Numbers say a lot, for some reason people refuse to pay any attention to them. I'm not saying Travis doesn't have good stuff and was undeserving of a bid because obviosuly he was or he wouldn't have been selected. But Travis' HAPG was 9.17 to Nick's 5.23, and the RAPG was 6.03 to Nick's 2.43. While Travis was 2-3 Nick was 2-1. This is not a bashing of Travis beacuse we voted and he won and he is obviously deserving, but Nick got screwed of atleast a 2nd team bid. So sorry Nick you came out on the very very short end of the stick and I think a majority of the league knows this.
1b- I also think Louie Curtis was deserving of a 2nd team bid, he had the 2nd highest On Base Percentage and 5th highest batting average.
1c- Robert Vacarro was borderline of a bid, he leads the South in Victories alone on top with 4. The last time I checked Wins are the most important thing in the game. Rather his other numbers were the best the one thaing that matters most is W's.
1d- Cody Richardson and Jimmy Klotz were both borderline decisions for the 2nd team, Cody has some solid pitching numbers he is 2nd in the North in Strikeout's with 35 and and has a RAPG of 2.33 which just happens to be the 2nd best in the entire KCWBC. So the selection between him and Chris Beets was a toss up bith have Pitched very solid. As far as Jim he has an On Base Percentage of .462 over Brian House with a .426, but House has slightly better numbers in most other stats, so I have absolutly no problem with Brian over Jim, Brian has turned it up to another level the last 3-4 weeks, but Klotz has made some very big plays to keep the Woodcocks in that 2nd playoff spot, without him the would be battling Mayhem for last.
2- I have heard some complaints with the All-Star voting format, what I have to say about that is this; The voting format works, and if you want proof you got it all you have to do is look at the North Division, It came out just the way it should have give or take a player. The numbers prove this. So what I am saying is for those of you who won't to complain saying the team isn't fair, or you should have made or he should have made it, you have no one to blame but yourselves, or in some cases your division.
3-The voting format for the awards and once again all-star voting next year will once again have to change due to ignorance within the league and people either not caring or being stuborn with opinions of others and ignoring the ability of a player. So this gives me a few options
a- We put together a voting comittee of players within the league who actually care and show up to most the games, even on nights they don't play
b- We Have only the Captains vote
c- I set up a format based only on stats, and the players with the best numbers go to the ASG, and awards would be the same except Golden Claw, BFP, and Cherry award would still be voted on
d- Which I like, we leave it the same for the ASG as this year, maybe people will vote correctly next time now that they see the outcome, and the awards are based on a stat point system.
